Join Us in Carrying
Libba’s Legacy Forward

Left-Handed Little Girl is an independent tribute album celebrating the life,
music, and enduring legacy of Elizabeth “Libba” Cotten.

A Family-Led Tribute

Producing and releasing this album independently gives us the creative freedom to ensure the storytelling remains family-led and true to Elizabeth “Libba” Cotten’s legacy.

Featuring the Steep Canyon Rangers, special guests Taj Mahal and Allison Russell, rare archival recordings of Libba herself, and contributions from members of her own family, the album brings together past and present in a powerful musical tribute. One of the project’s most meaningful moments will be a new recording of Shake Sugaree, bringing this remarkable story full circle across generations.

While the album is our first priority, our broader vision extends beyond the recording itself. Future phases may include educational resources, community programming, historical preservation initiatives, and additional opportunities to share Libba’s story with new audiences.
